Carob powder has a sweet nutty taste and is often used as a substitute for cacao or chocolate powder. It has many similarities to cacao, as both grow in the tropics in pods and are often used in drinks and confections. But unlike cacao, carob does not contain caffeine. Carob also contains 3 times the calcium of cacao.
