Q. Where is your farm located? Our farm is located in the Pacific Northwest. Specifically in the small town of Centralia, WA.
Q. Where is the processing facility located? The processing facility is actually quite near the farm in the adjacent town of Chehalis, WA.
Q. Is your facility organically certified? Actually no. Although we operate a farm and facility that for all intents and purposes follows the guidelines of being organic we are not certified. Official certification is currently in the works and we plan to be certified in the near future.
Q. Are your goats free range? Yes! We allow our goats to freely graze on open pasture. Check out or video on YouTube to see our goats and their free range pastureland.
Q. How much protein is in the Capra Mineral Whey? Very little. Whey does not always mean protein. Capra Mineral Whey is a mineral supplement and the amount of protein found in it is quite small. For a truly protein packed supplement check out Caprotein.
This is in response to the other reviewer. If a parent is going to take responsibility for their baby's health, and make their own formula, let's hope they do some research! I love this product, I do supplement with additional iron support for absorption (vitamin c, colostrum specifically). Weston Price formula was HORRIBLE for my baby, and I think that should come with a warning! I have found a few accounts of it badly harming baby's GI system. Anyway, this combined with a few other things has been a staple for my baby, and after I got him off fallon's formula, he is doing much better. By the way, there is very little iron in mother's milk, and some studies indicate supplementing with iron is harmful for infants. There are a lot of things in mother's milk that support iron absorption: colostrum, lactoferrin, are two of them. I think that's what should be emphasized in a formula, instead of giving tons of iron babies struggle to break down. (Posted on 10/2/11)
This product should not be used as a sole source of food for infants as it has 0 iron and would cause harm and it should carry a warning stating so. There is a recipe for infant formula using goat's milk in Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon, president of the Weston Price Foundation and she warns of this and adds liver to the goat milk for baby formula.
